Buxton Peak Launch Party: How to Earn Points Toward Party Favors!

Welcome to the Launch Party for my new novella Buxton PeakBook One: Who Is Ian Taylor?

The great news is that every one of you will be going home with a Party Favor (a donated book by one of our Spotlight Authors)!

Twenty-five of my author friends have generously donated a copy of one of their books!
You will get to choose which of those books you’d like to take home. The person with the most points will get to choose first, second most points gets to choose second, on down the line. Even if you get zero points, you will still get a Party Favor to take home, just for being here.

Points are awarded on an honor system because I just won’t have time to keep track. Sometime between now and whenever you go to bed tonight, send me a Private Message with the number of points you’ve accumulated and your top 3-5 book choices.

Within the next day or two I’ll let you know which Party Favor you have won. We will then connect you with the author so you can give them your contact information.

Here are some of the ways you can earn points:
  • Share ANYTHING from this party on your Facebook page (one of my posts, one of the Spotlight Author posts, a link to one of our books, a blog post, a Review, etc.)
  • Tweet or Retweet anything from this party or anything that one of us Tweeted (one of my posts, one of the Spotlight Author posts, a link to one of our books, a blog post, a Review, etc.)
  • Ask a question of one of our Spotlight Authors.
  • Go to Amazon and leave a review on one of my books (if you’ve already done this, it still counts as a point), either The Cove or Buxton Peak Book One: Who Is Ian Taylor? (Note: Amazon requires that you write something indicating that you “were given an advance copy in exchange for an honest review” if you didn’t actually purchase the book, or they may take down your review later).
  • Invite a friend to come to this party (one point per invited friend, even if they don’t come!)
  • Purchase either of my books, The Cove or Buxton Peak Book One: Who Is Ian Taylor? (Give yourself an extra ten points for purchasing one of the books!)
  • Purchase any one or more of the Spotlight Author’s books (Give yourself an extra ten points for purchasing one of the books!)
  • Send me an email and request to be on my mailing list: juliespencer1998@gmail.com
  • Have fun and enjoy getting to know one another (Give yourself at least one point for every time you smile or laugh while here at the party!)

Thank you again, so much for being here! It means the world to me that you are sharing this exciting night with me! –Julie L. Spencer

Who Is Ian Taylor?

Who is Ian Taylor?

Ian Taylor is the main character in the new novella Buxton Peak Book One: Who Is Ian Taylor? by Julie L. Spencer (that would be me!)

Ian just wanted to be loved for who he was on the inside…

When he meets Megan, a small town college girl at church in a remote part of Michigan, he figures out pretty quickly that she knows nothing about him. So he makes the decision to hide his fame from her.

His plan backfires when Megan finds out who he really is and decides she doesn’t want to live her life in his spotlight, with all the baggage that comes with it. She just wants to live a quiet life in rural Michigan with a normal husband and family.

Can she forgive Ian for his deception (and embarrassing her on live television)? Is she willing to give up her dreams in order to follow his? Or will Ian throw away everything he’s achieved to stay in her life?

Buxton Peak Book One: Who Is Ian Taylor? Now Available!

Who is Ian Taylor? Ian Taylor is the main character in the first book of the Buxton Peak series by Julie L. Spencer (that would be me!)

Buxton Peak Book One: Who Is Ian Taylor? is the beginning of a love story that forces Ian Taylor to let go of those who use him, embrace those who love him for who he truly is, and find strength in his music when everything around him falls apart.

The planned launch date for Buxton Peak Book One: Who Is Ian Taylor? is June 21st 2016.

If you are a blogger, or have a website, or would like to help me with a special (weird) project on the launch date, email me at juliespencer1998@gmail.com

For your help/participation, I’ll give you a free digital copy of Buxton Peak Book One: Who Is Ian Taylor? to read. You don’t have to write a review (unless you want to!) or post anything on Facebook or Twitter or your website (other than the weird wording). It’s just yours to enjoy.

I love my story and can’t wait to share it with the world! -Julie L. Spencer

While you’re waiting to read Buxton Peak Book One: Who IsIan Taylor? check out my first novel, The Cove on Amazon in paperback or Kindle. Have you read The Cove? or Buxton Peak Book One: Who Is Ian Taylor? What’s your opinion? -Julie L. Spencer

Thank You For Your Service!

I’m conducting a hashtag experiment to see if I can get a phrase trending on Facebook and Twitter. My kids think I’m crazy and that this won’t work, but I’d at least like to try!

The phrase I’d like to promote is #ThankYouForYourService as in #Nurses #ThankYouForYourService (nurses are God’s angels here on earth). Or #Teachers #ThankYouForYourService (thankless job, I know, I’m married to one!). Or #PoliceOfficers #ThankYouForYourService (or anyone willing to put on a uniform in defense of our country or communities!). You get the idea.

Then, you can also tag people you know who are nurses, or teachers, or uniformed officers.

“Thank you for your service,” is something I say quite often so it’s comfortable for me. I never walk past a man or woman in a military uniform without walking up to them and shaking their hand and thanking them for their service.

I’ll be doing a lot of posts over the next couple of days with the hashtag #ThankYouForYourService and I’d love it if you’d join me. With all the crud that trends, I think it’s time to start something positive!

If you tag me in your post on Facebook or Twitter, I will share your post or retweet it!

Will you join me? What's your opinion? –Julie L. Spencer
