Wondering ‘What should I read next?’ Looking for the best
books to read? Need book recommendations? Read Emily’s Hope by Diana DeHaven.
A western historical romance set in Apple Springs, Colorado
in the late 1880s.
This book is a revised version of 'Emily's Hope' that was released in 2016.
Raised in luxury in Chicago, Emily Wright can never imagine leaving the city. But in 1888, her husband dies and she is forced to return to her father's home with her young daughter. Her father remarried several years ago and her stepmother makes sure she knows that she is no longer welcome there.
She knows she has to leave but, with no money, her choices are limited. When she sees an advertisement for a teacher in the small, rural town of Apple Springs in northern Colorado, she hopes that her life will change for the better. She accepts the position and travels with her daughter to start a new life in an environment for which she is totally unprepared but she is determined to make her life in Colorado work.
Sam Radford is a second-generation rancher on the high plains of northern Colorado. The love of his life died in childbirth five years ago and he has given up on life. He has no interest in marrying another woman, especially one who comes from a completely different life in Chicago.
Can they find common ground? Can they both trust enough to love again after losing their first love?
